Elizabeth Rowland

Elizabeth Rowland
Receptionist

Liz Rowland is the newest member of our staff and is a vital part of our healthcare team. She is the friendly voice on the phone who coordinates communication between our clients and Dr. Emond. She handles many of our routine office functions including scheduling and billing, as well as addressing client questions or concerns. Her compassionate nature, love of animals and strong work ethics provide our clients excellent service as they seek diagnosis and treatment for their horse’s medical problems

Liz comes to Candlewood Equine with a diverse background in many areas of equine care. She spent 10 years as a member of Fairfield County 4-H, during which she rode in the drill team, helped to create an Equine Fire Safety program for firefighters and horse owners, and competed at state and national levels in Hippology and Quiz Bowl. After high school, she spent time in Australia where she volunteered at an equine rescue and rehabilitation facility, and studied equine science at both UConn and Post University. She also spent seven summers as Director of the Horse Activity Program at Hartford County 4-H Camp.

When not handling the day to day office functions at Candlewood Equine, Liz can be found in her hometown of Oxford working hard alongside her father to keep the family farm viable and productive into its second century. Her animal companions include a herd of Boer goats, four horses, and her German Shepherd, Kylie.
