2016 Preventative Health Care Plans
There is an old saying “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. This concept can be applied to keeping our horses healthy and happy. At Candlewood Equine, we believe that annual physical exams, vaccination and deworming programs, nutritional counseling, regular dental exams and early detection screening are the foundations of our preventative health care program.
Routine wellness visits allow us to not only keep up with your horse’s current health, but they also provide the opportunity to identify and address potential problems before they develop into something more serious. Early detection of disease can greatly improve the quality and length of your horse’s life.
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive health care program for your horse that will cater to you and your horse’s individual needs while saving you money. With this in mind, we have developed three different annual prepaid wellness programs at a reduced cost that give you peace of mind knowing that all of your horse’s wellness needs are taken care of.

Candlewood Equine Chosen as Featured Pre-conference Tour Stop for 36th Annual AYHC Symposium – April 12-14, 2013.
The American Youth Horse Council Leaders will be holding their national conference in Connecticut this year. This symposium brings together youth and youth leaders from all different facets of the equine industry for three days of presentations, education, discussion, exhibits, awards, and, of course, fun for all. The event will feature many nationally and internationally respected teachers and clinicians from across the United States. Candlewood Equine will be included in one of the three pre-conference tours that will highlight the equestrian activity that abounds in Connecticut. Our Office Manager, Margie Groht will be a presenter at the Symposium teaching youth about equine first aid and what you can do to help your horse prior to the vet arriving.
The symposium is open to adults and youth and this is the first time it will be in Connecticut. Learn about and share what is happening in the youth horse industry through live horse demonstrations and workshops! This conference is not always within driving distance of New England – Don’t miss out on this chance to attend!
